The moon is always jealous of the heat of the day, just as the sun always longs for something dark and deep.
Alice Hoffman
Be still sad heart and cease repining, behind the clouds the sun is shining; thy fate is the common fate of all; into each life some rain must fall-some days must be dark and dreary.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Some times it is the “imperfect” shots that you end up liking the bestt. Shot this on my way to IKEA, against the sun which made it all dark. But, that is what “makes” the shot me thinks.

Day 135/366: Red sky at night, sailors delight
After yet another windy and rainy day, it calmed down in the evening/night. The sunset is full of hope for better days ahead.

Day 115/366: Valley of Leikanger
After being done with the work day, I headed to the hotel to change into clothes and shoes more appropriate to go hiking with. It was such a nice day, and I could not spend it only being inside! The nature in Leikanger is dramatic and superb. It has my two favorite features - the ocean and the mountains. I kept finding myself thinking many times on my hike “I could live here!”. I have always had a dream of owning a small house by the ocean… and here that would be feasible! But reality sinks in, knowing it is not only myself I would have to move, there is family being involved.
But, at least I can enjoy the spectacular views and sights while here. This is one of the valleys that goes from the small town center and in between the many tall mountains that surround Leikanger
Day 114/366: Greeted by the sun
I went to Leikanger again today, for a second “phase” of my training. I was there in January for the first part of my training, and now I know that part of the job very well, so time to up the ante!
I was greeted by gorgeous weather! This is right outside of the hotel where I always stay. It is so nice to be able to see and smell the ocean when waking up in the mornings, having had the window open all night! I love that smell and feel so very connected to the water. As said in a post from before.
More of my photos from Leikanger can be seen here
Day 104/366: Backyard sunset
I’ve never really thought about it before, but it’s a miracle how many kinds of light there are in the world, how many skies: the pale brightness of spring, when it feels like the hole world’s blushing; the lush, bright boldness of a July noon; purple storm skies and a green queasiness just before lightning strikes and crazy multicolored sunsets that look like someone’s acid trip.
Lauren Oliver
The sun is finally up high enough over the top of the mountain we face, and long enough in the evening for me to be able to enjoy my backyard sunsets again.

Day 103/366: Morning Glory
“What are you going to do with your life?” In one way or another it seemed that people had been asking her this forever; teachers, her parents, friends at three in the morning, but the question had never seemed this pressing and still she was no nearer an answer… “Live each day as if it’s your last’, that was the conventional advice, but really, who had the energy for that? What if it rained or you felt a bit glandy? It just wasn’t practical. Better by far to be good and courageous and bold and to make difference. Not change the world exactly, but the bit around you. Cherish your friends, live passionately and fully and well with the means you got, within what is. Experience new things. Love and be loved, if you ever get the chance.
David Nicholls
